General Membership Meeting April 15th

Our next General Membership Meeting will be Thursday, April 15 at 6pm at Gordon Biersch Buckhead.

Our guest speaker will be Captain Paul Shirley, brother of Carol Wrape, who recently brought a 55’ Nordhavn trawler from DanaPoint CA to Stuart, FL via the Panama Canal- 4373 nautical miles. He also brought a 72’ Hatteras from Martha’s Vineyard to Stuart down the ICW, and was captain of that vessel until the owner decided to sell her. He has also taught advanced coastal navigation. As space prevents my going on (and I really could go on) let it suffice to say that this meeting is not to be missed!

Please RSVP to ensure adequate staff for excellent service.

Raft-Up and Wine Tasting Dinner

The first raft-up of 2010, “The Vineyards of Lake Lanier,” took place on March 27. Members brought wine with their favorite accompaniment to share during the raft-up and then gathered for a specially prepared dinner and wine tasting at The Windows at Emerald Point.

General Meeting March 2010

Our General Membership Meeting for March 2010 was held on March 18 at Mudcatz Grill. This was our first meeting under the leadership of newly elected Commanding Officer Kevin Schoonover.

Members were excited to hear the details as our Executive Officers and chairs outlined the upcoming events and initiatives planned for 2010. The themed raft-ups, cruises, and off-water social events give members activities to look forward to not only during the Spring and Summer months, but all year round.

There are many educational opportunities upcoming also, including members classes, CPR training, safety demonstrations, and seminars.

CPR Class

Everyone interested, please mark your calendars. The ASPS – CPR Class will be held on 17 April at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming. The cost will be $25.00/ person plus $3.00 for the booklet. If you want the certification card add $5.00.
