PLEASE RENEW WHEN DUE – BUT – IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO REINSTATE!! Are you PAST DUE to renew – or even “officially” a NON-RENEWAL? No Problem! It’s not too late – please REINSTATE!
WHEN ARE YOU DUE TO RENEW?? ASPS membership must be renewed annually as of a member’s anniversary date, through payment of renewal dues. For all ASPS members as of 6/09, their anniversary is June 1st. For all other Squadron members, their anniversary is the 1st of the month in which they joined. For anyone renewing during the current 2010-11 dues year, 6/1/10 – 5/31/11, renewal dues rates are $79 for a single member, $118.50 for a family membership, including ASPS, District and USPS amounts.
For all members, Renewal Notices go out 2 months before up for renewal on anniversary, first by email, and then by regular mail to those not heard from or without an email address. Renewal dues may be paid by credit card online, or by mailed check/credit card authorization per Notice instructions. Payment becomes due by the end of the month before anniversary month, past due as of anniversary. If not renewed by the first of the month after anniversary month, a member is considered a Non-Renewal and technically no longer a member, but can still reinstate ongoing membership for that year at any time by paying dues, without interruption or penalty.
DON’T MISS OUT ON YOUR MANY SAFE, SMART, FUN BENEFIFTS AS AN ASPS/USPS MEMBER!! For a complete listing of all the reasons to be a member AND for BOATING EDUCATION, check out Member Benefits under Member Stuff or Site Index at National website: usps.org. To renew online with credit card, just go to usps.org/dues/; you’ll need your Certificate # and Invoice #. And if you need any help with renewing your membership, please simply email Treasurer, Meg Haas: treasurer@usps-atlanta.org.
TO ALL RENEWING – THANK YOU – WE’RE SO GLAD YOU’RE STILL A MEMBER AND YOU WILL BE TOO!!
The weekend of July 16-18 did not have the most promising weather forecast, but happily we had nice weather for most of our activities. Some of our members went out to Sunset Cove on Friday night to raft up for Aquapalooza. Meanwhile, other members spent their Friday evening welcoming our neighbors from the Lake Murray Power Squadron to our gorgeous Lake Lanier with hors d’oeuvres and dinner at Hideaway Bay Marina.
On Saturday, members of both squadrons enjoyed our time together swimming, sharing good food, and enjoying beach activities like hula hooping at Sunset Cove. It was terrific to meet other power squadron members from Lake Murray and get to spend time enjoying the water and getting to know one another better. Of course, the ASPS was happy to show them a great time that they won’t soon forget!

Look for The Atlanta Sail & Power Squadron at Aquapalooza!
MarineMax and Lake Lanier Islands Resort are teaming up to make this years Aquapalooza event in Georgia the best one ever… and last year there were over 400 boats and 2,000 people in attendance!
*MarineMax Staff will be monitoring Channel 72 on your VHF radio the entire weekend. When entering the cove, radio MarineMax Staff and they will instruct you where to raft up.*
Lake Lanier Islands has opened up its Beach and WaterPark at a discounted rate to people who pre-register for the event.
Boaters may begin entering Lake Lanier Islands on Friday, July 16th at 7:00pm (boats only) for the raft up. The Sunset Cove Restaurant will be open for dinner, cocktails, and live entertainment for your enjoyment.
